Tallest Building Between Austin and Houston Reaches Construction Milestone
December 12, 2022
Designed by Rhode Partners, developed by Parallel and with construction by Rogers-O’Brien, REV Northgate Student Living marked its topping out recently with a celebration for the project team. Reaching 200-feet, the 19-story mixed-use building is the tallest in Bryan-College Station. The project is anticipated to be completed in summer 2023.
Located at 315 College Main, Rev Northgate is just minutes away from Texas A&M University’s campus. The 300,000sf building is designed with the goal of rethinking traditional student housing, both inside and out. Along with 298 residential units and 802 bedrooms, the building features a suite of amenities, including a sky lounge and roof deck, genius lounge and conference rooms, a state of the art fitness center, yoga and meditation room, saunas, and the new University Student Lutheran Center. On the seventh floor, with expansive views of the campus, an amenities deck features an open courtyard, pool, spa, and full-size sand volleyball court.
Intended to serve as an emblem for Bryan–College Station’s forward-looking urban growth, the exterior of College Station Apartments is also thoughtfully designed. The building is defined by expressive rounded corners on the building’s north, west, and east sides, echoed by flowing and undulating curves across the façade.
Of the project, Director Robert Tait remarks that “REV Student Living exemplifies a dynamic building design that engages the burgeoning Northgate neighborhood at the pedestrian scale, while expanding the housing stock for the university. It is exciting to see this project realized in built form.”
Kristen Penrod of Parallel says “This is a critical milestone for all of us, we are so proud of our team and grateful for the partnerships that makes this incredible project possible. We are looking forward to a successful opening next summer for our residents.”
