Chicago Athenaeum Recognizes The Independent with Second Award

Having already received over a dozen international and national awards, The Independent’s critical recognition continues with a new accolade from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture & Design. After receiving the institution’s International Architecture award earlier this year, The Independent was also granted their American Architecture award, making Austin’s tallest residential a double Chicago Athenaeum winner for 2021. Rhode Partners’ Director Robert Tait accepted the American Architecture Award at a ceremony held in Miami this month.
In late September, Director Brett Rhode accepted the International Architecture Award in Athens, Greece, where the project was also on view at The City and The World, an exhibition of the Chicago Athenaeum’s winning international projects.
